The fact that Fruita, Colorado is a launch pad for adventures of all sorts is no secret. Every type of outdoor experience imaginable is within an hour of the town including mountain biking the BLM 18 Road trails, rafting the Colorado River, guided horseback rides into canyon country, and even skiing at the Powderhorn Mountain Resort on the Grand Mesa. Eating
After your gear is dried and your bikes are safely stored, it’s time to explore the Fruita nightlife. Following a long day working hard at your outdoor adventure, you’ll be hungry. Downtown Fruita has you covered.
The Hot Tomato Pizzeria was started with the intention of providing a better food experience to mountain bikers and outdoor enthusiasts. Today, the pizza shop is known for a stellar Stromboli, a knack for booking excellent musical acts featured on their back porch (F.U.N. played there!) and most recently a brewing partnership with New Belgium. The Hot Tomato’s food is so good, they receive orders from as far away as Utah. Be sure to pick up a Hot Tomato bike jersey or t-shirt while you’re there! Find the Hot Tomato located at 124 N. Mulberry Street.
If you find yourself in more of an experimental mood, give Pablo’s Pizza a try. With a menu featuring Mac N’ Cheese Pizza, Peanut Butter and Jelly Pizza, and an extensive list of microbrews, there’s something for all ages. If you’re in the mood for a salad, try the Unicornucopia. This spring salad mix tastes as mythical as the beast of its namesake. Pablo’s is within walking distance of a few hotels at 456 Kokopelli Drive.
Not in the mood for pizza? Why not try El Tapatio Mexican Restaurant? Their menu includes a wide selection of Mexican dishes, so you’re bound to find what you’re looking for. Kick back and relax in the ambience or outside patio with a margarita of your choice – you’ll never want to leave!

Drinking
After dinner, walk down Aspen Street to Copper Club Brewing Company and try one of their high quality brews. Like the rest of the Fruita nightlife, Copper Club does things a little bit differently. They don’t serve food. None. Not even sandwiches. They focus on the beer and allow patrons to bring their own food. Something else that’s different about the brewing company: they’re family friendly. With home made root beer on tap, Copper Club has dart boards, a rack of dress up hats, board games, and live music every Thursday night creating an atmosphere that welcomes anyone and everyone, kids included! Be sure to ask for a tour of the brewing process, the owners or bartender will be happy to show you around.
Don’t want to bring your own food? That’s ok! Head over to Suds Brothers Brewery, a brew/pub style eatery where you can relax and listen to live music while enjoying Lemon Seasoned Chicken or Fish Tacos. Suds Brothers is also located right on Aspen Street.
Music
During the summer, come and check out the Fruita Thursday Night Concert Series held outside as the Civic Center. The concerts are free and feature all genres of music, from bluegrass to reggae and beyond! Bring your camp chair and listen to quality music, have a Colorado brew, and watch the sun set in the Western sky over canyon country. It’s an experience you won’t want to miss!
