While Fruita may be famous for its mountain biking trails, it is also a base camp for all types of experiences on the water. Located on the shores of the Colorado River, and with nearby launch points on the Gunnison and Dolores Rivers, there is truly all types of fun to be had, whether you’re a rafting pro or family with youngsters.

Rimrock Adventures is a local Fruita outfitter, shuttle and guiding company that can match you to the perfect rafting trip.

Floating with the Family

Who says you have to be a hard-core rafter to experience the Colorado River? Your family can enjoy an afternoon on a lazy river ride through magnificent red canyons and open waters. Too hot? Going overboard is no problem in this section of the Colorado River.

Tours and Treks

If you know where to go, you can turn your adventure into a multi-activity excursion! Only accessible by boat or on foot, explore the Ruby and Horsethief Canyons to spot wildlife, see ancient Precambrian rock and ditch the raft for a trek to view pictographs by the ancient Fremont Indians. Can’t get enough? Consider a multi-day trip. If you plan to venture into Ruby and Horsetheif Canyons overnight, you will need a camping permit

Solo or Group Adventures

Had enough family time on your vacation? Rimrock Adventures offers many excursions with an option to paddle your own personal inflatable kayak! Perfect for those who want a little more independence or solitude.

Rapids Adventures

For seasoned rowers and those looking to ride some rapids with a guide, consider Westwater Canyon. A world-class whitewater experience, it boasts thrilling terrain and beautiful views.

Beyond Rafting

Rafting not your thing? Try Stand Up Paddleboarding, a fun and peaceful way to spend time on the water. Explore Snooks Bottom open space, or paddle around at Imondi Wake Zone. No matter which adventure you choose, an amazing experience is waiting for you in Fruita.
